For 15 years, I have specialised in English for the insurance industry, working with professionals across a wide range of functions and levels of responsibility. I offer tailor-made English and communication training for Austrian insurance companies. My experience covers functions including Board and senior management, Claims, Sales, Marketing, Internal Audit, Finance, Global Corporate and Commercial Underwriting, SME Underwriting, Legal, Subrogation, Health, Life, Human Resources, Training & Development and Fleet Management.
My qualification combines in-depth knowledge of the insurance business with a highly individual, conversation-based approach to language learning. Because I understand the professional context, we can spend less time explaining the world of insurance and more time working on the communication skills that actually matter.
English for Insurance Professionals

Training is available in person, online or as a combination of both, depending on the needs of the company and the participants.
Executive English
For senior executives, English training works best when it is more than a language lesson.
One-to-one sessions provide a confidential space to practise and refine the English needed for meetings, presentations, negotiations, international relationships and everyday business conversations. They can also provide a valuable opportunity to prepare for a new international role, increased responsibility or situations in which greater confidence and ease in English are needed.
The content is shaped around the individual: current work, professional challenges, interests, hobbies and whatever is relevant at the time. The aim is not perfect English. It is confident, effective communication. I provide selective, unobtrusive feedback while allowing the conversation to remain natural. Participants are encouraged to let go of perfection, think for themselves and become comfortable communicating even when they do not have the perfect words.
English for Professional Teams
I also offer training for departmental and inter-departmental groups, tailored to the company’s objectives and the participants’ professional needs. Group training can focus on areas such as:
- communicating confidently in international meetings
- professional conversation and small talk
- presentations and pitches
- emails and written communication
- insurance-specific vocabulary and terminology
- communicating with international clients and business partners
- cross-functional communication
- building confidence and fluency in professional English
The emphasis is on active communication rather than passive learning. Participants work with relevant topics, exchange ideas and learn from one another while developing greater confidence in English. Whenever possible, I value the benefits of meeting in person. In a working environment increasingly dominated by online meetings, face-to-face training creates space for genuine conversation, cooperation and stronger connections between colleagues. At the same time, online and hybrid formats remain available whenever they are the most practical solution.
More than language training
Whether working one-to-one with an executive or with a group of professionals, my principle is simple: People communicate better when they are genuinely interested in the conversation.
My role is therefore not simply to correct English. It is to create conversations that are relevant, stimulating and challenging enough to make people want to communicate – while helping them become more natural, confident and effective in English.
With 23 years of experience teaching adults, including 15 years specialising in insurance, I bring both professional expertise and a strong understanding of how adults learn best: through relevant content, meaningful interaction and an atmosphere in which they feel comfortable enough to experiment.
